Beeztrap KOTM has been named "Best New Artist" at the 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Center.
The rising trap sensation triumphed over a strong lineup of nominees including Lali x Lola, AratheJay, Rap Fada, Team Eternity, and Kwesi Amewuga. This year’s Best New Artist category attracted major attention, showcasing some of the most promising names shaping Ghana’s music future.
Nominees for the 2025 TGMA were first announced in March by the Ghana Music Award Academy Board. Categories ranged from Artiste of the Year and Record of the Year to Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist. The announcement set the tone for what has become one of the most competitive award seasons in recent memory.
The Artiste of the Year category in particular stands out, with heavyweights such as Stonebwoy, King Paluta, King Promise, Black Sherif, Joe Mettle, Kweku Smoke, and the gospel collective Team Eternity all in the running. Each of these acts has made a significant impact in their respective genres over the past year, making the competition especially fierce.
The night also featured high-energy performances from some of Ghana’s biggest music stars. Stonebwoy, a crowd favourite, took the stage with hits like “Jejereje,” while King Promise thrilled fans with Afrobeat anthems including “Terminator” and “Paris.”
Other standout performers included Kweku Smoke, whose raw rap energy powered tracks like “Agyekum” and “Young Boy”; and Fameye, known for his heartfelt music. Beeztrap KOTM also delivered a performance that showcased the style and energy that have made him a standout in Ghana’s growing trap music scene.
Afropop star KiDi brought his signature feel-good vibe, while Moliy added an international flair with her alternative sound. Rising talent Titi Owusu, known for her genre-bending approach, rounded out the evening’s diverse musical lineup.
Beeztrap KOTM’s win marks a major milestone in his career and signals his growing influence in Ghana’s dynamic music landscape.
