Liverpool Stun Real Madrid as Bayern Defeat PSG in Europe

Liverpool reignited their Champions League hopes with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Real Madrid at Anfield, thanks to a decisive header from Alexis Mac Allister. The goal, which came just after the hour mark from a Dominik Szoboszlai free-kick, sealed an important win for the Premier League side after a challenging run of form.

Despite Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois delivering an outstanding performance with eight crucial saves, the Spanish giants could not stop Liverpool from securing all three points. The result ended Madrid’s unbeaten streak in all competitions since their September loss to Atletico Madrid.

For Liverpool, the win was a much-needed morale boost after losing six of their last eight matches under new manager Arne Slot. The atmosphere at Anfield was electric as the Reds displayed renewed determination and tactical discipline, showing signs of a possible turnaround in their campaign.

In Paris, Bayern Munich claimed a 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in a fiercely contested match at the Parc des Princes. Luis Diaz was the standout performer for the German champions, scoring twice in the first half before being sent off for a dangerous tackle on Achraf Hakimi.

Despite being reduced to ten men, Bayern held their ground against PSG’s second-half push. Joao Neves scored the lone goal for the hosts, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Bayern from maintaining their perfect group stage record — four wins out of four and a total of 12 points. The defeat marked PSG’s first loss of the group phase, raising questions about their defensive consistency.

Elsewhere, Arsenal continued their impressive form with a commanding 3-0 victory over Slavia Prague. Bukayo Saka opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Mikel Merino added two more to secure the win. The result kept Arsenal unbeaten and yet to concede a goal in the competition, placing them firmly in second position in their group.

Europa League champions Tottenham Hotspur also enjoyed a strong night, cruising to a 4-0 win over FC Copenhagen. Atletico Madrid bounced back from their earlier defeat to Arsenal with a 3-1 victory over Union Saint-Gilloise. Meanwhile, Napoli and Juventus were both held to frustrating draws, and Monaco edged past Bodo/Glimt 1-0.

The Champions League group stage continues Wednesday, with Inter Milan, Manchester City, and Athletic Bilbao all set to feature in key fixtures.
