The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a recall for freeze dried fruit sold at Sam’s Club due to listeria contamination.
Doehler Dry Ingredient Solutions, LLC is recalling 15-count boxes of the “Member’s Mark Freeze Dried Fruit Variety Pack” after internal testing found the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The product was distributed between July 1 and July 25, 2025, and sold at Sam’s Club locations in 42 states. At this time, no illnesses linked to the product have been reported.
The affected boxes carry the UPC 1 93968 50900 2 and include multiple lot codes and use-by dates, which the FDA has listed on its official website. Customers who purchased the product are being advised not to eat it. Instead, they should discard it and return to any Sam’s Club location for a full refund.
Listeria is a type of bacteria that can cause serious illness, especially in vulnerable groups. According to the FDA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), symptoms of listeria infection may include high fever, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, muscle aches, fatigue, and in some cases, a stiff neck and severe headache.
Certain people are at greater risk for severe outcomes, including pregnant women, newborns, older adults (65 and above), and those with weakened immune systems. In some cases, the infection can be life-threatening or result in complications such as miscarriage or stillbirth.
Consumers with questions about the recall can contact the company’s customer service at 1-770-387-0451, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
The recalled product was sold in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
For food safety at home, officials remind consumers to store perishable items properly, check use-by dates, and regularly clean surfaces to prevent contamination.
