The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Abdullahi Bashir Haske, son-in-law to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, wanted over alleged criminal conspiracy and money laundering.
In a public notice signed by EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the commission announced that Haske, who is also the founder and Managing Director of AA&R Investment Group, is being sought in connection with ongoing investigations. He is 38 years old and hails from Adamawa State, where he holds the traditional title of Ciroma-Ganye.
The EFCC urged members of the public with useful information about his whereabouts to contact any of its offices across the country, including those in Ibadan, Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt, and other major cities. Information can also be shared through EFCC’s dedicated phone numbers, email addresses, or reported to nearby police stations and security agencies.
“The public is hereby notified that Abdullahi Bashir Haske, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the EFCC in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and money laundering,” the notice stated. It further listed his last known addresses in Lagos as No. 6 Mosley Road, Ikoyi, and 952/953 Idejo Street, Victoria Island.
Haske is a prominent businessman with strong interests in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. His company, Etihad Oilfield Services, a subsidiary of AA&R Investment Group, is credited with discovering oil in the Kolmani River area of Bauchi State. The group also handles major contracts with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
Reports indicate that EFCC’s investigation into Haske is linked to a broader probe of top NNPCL officials. The inquiry focuses on multi-billion-dollar contracts awarded for the refurbishment of Nigeria’s refineries in Warri, Port Harcourt, and Kaduna, which remain largely non-functional despite heavy spending.
Haske’s close ties to influential figures and his role in securing lucrative oil contracts have drawn widespread attention to his case. As the EFCC intensifies its investigation, the commission has appealed for public cooperation in locating him.
