Kenyan double Olympic champion Beatrice Chebet has continued her dominance on the track, securing victory in the women's 5000m Diamond League final in Brussels. Chebet crossed the finish line in an impressive time of 14:09.82, setting a new meeting record in the process. The 24-year-old's performance was commanding from start to finish, as she comfortably held off her Ethiopian rivals.

While Chebet initially set out to break the world record, she quickly abandoned that goal within the first few laps. Despite this, she maintained a solid pace, building a commanding lead early on. The Ethiopian runners, led by Medina Eisa, Fotyen Tesfay, and Ejgayehu Taye, tried to close the gap, but none were able to challenge Chebet's remarkable speed.
