President-elect Donald Trump has announced Brooke Rollins as his pick for Secretary of Agriculture, completing his cabinet nominations. The announcement was made on his Truth Social platform, where Trump praised Rollins’ strong ties to agriculture and leadership experience within his administration.
In his statement, Trump described Rollins, 51, as a “proud graduate of Texas A&M University” and highlighted her upbringing in the farming community of Glen Rose, Texas. He emphasized her practical experience in agriculture and her dedication to supporting American farmers.
“Brooke’s commitment to supporting the American farmer, defending food self-sufficiency, and revitalizing agriculture-dependent small towns is second to none,” Trump wrote.
Rollins has played key roles in Trump’s previous administration, serving as the Director of the Domestic Policy Council and the Office of American Innovation. During her tenure, she worked on shaping domestic policies aimed at rural development and economic growth.
Over the past four years, Rollins led the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) and America First Works (AFW), advancing policies aligned with Trump’s agenda. Her leadership in these organizations reinforced her commitment to promoting rural prosperity and agricultural independence.
Raised in a farming family, Rollins participated in agricultural programs like 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) during her youth. Her personal experience with farming gave her a strong foundation for understanding the challenges faced by rural communities.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in agricultural development from Texas A&M University and a law degree from the University of Texas, Rollins entered public service. She worked as general counsel and policy director for former Texas Governor Rick Perry and later joined Trump’s 2016 economic advisory council.
As Secretary of Agriculture, Rollins is expected to bring her grassroots experience and policy expertise to support American farmers, promote food security, and drive rural economic development. Her appointment signals Trump’s continued focus on revitalizing agricultural communities and ensuring the sustainability of American farming.
With her combination of practical and professional experience, Rollins is poised to play a key role in advancing Trump’s vision for the agricultural sector.
