
Seven people were killed, and four others injured in a tragic accident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway near the Ibafo axis on Saturday morning. The crash occurred around 7:00 am and involved two tankers and a yellow public transport bus.
According to the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Ibafo outpost, the victims included six males and one female. The injured passengers were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. They were taken to Divine Touch Hospital and Glory Centre Hospital in Ibafo, while the bodies of the deceased were transported to Idera Hospital morgue in Sagamu for further processing.
Emergency responders from the FRSC and local police were quick to arrive at the scene. Their efforts helped manage the chaos caused by the accident, although the crash led to significant traffic gridlock on the busy expressway. Authorities have yet to release detailed information about the cause of the collision.
The deadly incident has raised concerns about the safety of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, a major route connecting Lagos to other parts of Nigeria. As investigations into the accident continue, the public is reminded to exercise caution on the road to prevent further accidents.
