Kisumu Woman Wanted for Stabbing Husband’s Alleged Lover

Police in Kisumu are searching for a woman accused of fatally stabbing another in a suspected love triangle incident in the Nyamasaria area of Kisumu East Sub-County. The tragic event unfolded near a boda boda base at Butter Toast stage, where the suspect allegedly confronted the victim over an affair.

The suspect, identified as Rosemary Achieng, also known as Mama Boy, is accused of attacking Brenda Awuor after finding her speaking with her husband, John Ayima. According to police reports, Achieng, armed with a kitchen knife, stabbed Awuor multiple times in the chest before fleeing. The 30-year-old victim succumbed to excessive bleeding at the scene.

Alleged Affair Sparks Deadly Attack

Investigators believe the attack was fueled by suspicions of an extramarital affair. Awuor, who owned an M-Pesa shop near the boda boda stage, was reportedly close to Ayima, who worked in the area. Witnesses, including fellow boda boda operators, claim the two had been involved in a romantic relationship, which may have led to the deadly confrontation.

Eyewitnesses recounted how the suspect approached Awuor aggressively before suddenly attacking her. Bystanders were left in shock as Achieng fled immediately after the stabbing, leaving the victim bleeding heavily. Despite efforts to get medical help, Awuor was pronounced dead shortly after the incident.

Police Launch Manhunt

Following the fatal attack, police have launched a manhunt for Achieng, who remains at large. Authorities have urged anyone with information on her whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, Awuor’s body has been moved to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue as investigations continue. The incident has left residents of Nyamasaria in shock, with many calling for justice for the slain woman.

Law enforcement officials have assured the public that they are committed to tracking down the suspect and ensuring she faces the law. The case has reignited discussions about domestic conflicts and violence in relationships, with calls for peaceful conflict resolution instead of resorting to violence.
