Chicago Sky Reunite Hailey Van Lith and Angel Reese

Hailey Van Lith and Angel Reese, former LSU teammates, will play together once again—this time in the WNBA.

The Chicago Sky selected Van Lith as the 11th overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, reuniting her with Reese, who was also drafted by the Sky. Although Van Lith played her final college season at TCU, she previously shared the court with Reese during the 2023–24 season at LSU.

Van Lith made a strong case for herself as a top WNBA prospect after an impressive season with the TCU Horned Frogs. She shot a career-best 45.9% from the field and averaged 17.9 points, 5.4 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game. Her stellar performance helped TCU win both the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles.

She also led TCU to the Elite Eight, setting program records with 680 points and 204 assists in a single season. These accomplishments earned her the Big 12’s Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year honors.

Van Lith’s college career began at Louisville, where she was a standout for three seasons. She earned first-team All-ACC honors in both 2022 and 2023 and helped lead the Cardinals to a Final Four appearance. After transferring to LSU for the 2023–24 season, she struggled to find her rhythm, averaging 11.6 points and shooting a career-low 37.8%. Despite the dip in numbers, her talent and potential remained clear.

Her WNBA draft stock soared after her bounce-back season at TCU and a bronze medal performance in the 2024 Paris Olympics as part of the U.S. women's 3x3 basketball team.

The Sky used their second pick of the first round to bring Van Lith to Chicago, selecting her just after taking Slovenian forward Ajsa Sivka at 10th overall. With Van Lith and Reese reunited, fans are eager to see how the duo will contribute to the Sky’s future.
