Spotify’s New Playlist Helps Users Discover Local Concerts

Spotify has launched a new personalized playlist called ‘Concerts Near You’ to help users find upcoming concerts in their area based on their music tastes.

How the Playlist Works

Announced in a blog post on Thursday, the new feature will update weekly with 30 songs from artists scheduled to perform nearby. Each song will include event details and a direct ticket link, making it easier for fans to purchase tickets without leaving the app.

Spotify’s Vice President and Global Head of Music Product, Charlie Hellman, explained that the playlist is designed to ensure users never miss concerts by their favorite artists.

“There’s nothing worse than realizing that your favorite artist played your town last week,” Hellman said.

“‘Concerts Near You’ solves that problem. It not only helps fans find shows nearby but also gives artists a powerful way to sell more tickets and fill venues with the audiences who love their music most.”

Seamless Ticket Access

To make ticket purchases easier, Spotify partnered with major ticketing platforms including AXS, DICE, Eventbrite, and Ticketmaster. These partnerships ensure users can access official ticket links without searching elsewhere.

How Users Can Stay Updated

Spotify has also provided ways for users to customize their concert notifications:

Enable location sharing in app settings for personalized recommendations.

Turn on notifications to receive alerts about new concerts.

Follow favorite artists to get updates on their performances.

With this new feature, Spotify aims to enhance live music discovery while making ticket access smoother for fans.
