Afrobeats star Davido has revealed that his white wedding with Chioma Rowland will take place in August 2025 in Miami. Speaking during an interview on The Breakfast Club, he confirmed the much-anticipated ceremony, sharing that the couple is now ready to celebrate after facing both public attention and personal tragedy.
“I’m doing my white wedding in Miami, in August this year,” Davido said. He reflected on the couple’s traditional wedding, which took place in June 2024, saying it "shut down Nigeria" due to the intense public interest in their relationship. He also acknowledged the emotional journey they have endured, including the heartbreaking loss of their son.
During the same interview, Davido addressed his recent falling-out with fellow Nigerian artist Tiwa Savage. In January 2024, Savage filed a police petition against him, alleging that he made threats after she posted a picture with Sophia Momodu—Davido’s baby mama—on social media.
Davido explained that the issue was connected to a custody battle with Sophia, during which he had hoped Tiwa would support him in gaining access to his daughter. When that didn’t happen, he said it led to a misunderstanding between them.
However, he downplayed the incident, describing it as a “sibling-like argument” and noting that they have since resolved the matter. “Tiwa Savage and I used to stay in the same house; she is my big sister. She saw me as a youngling,” he said.
He added that while he hasn’t seen her since the fallout, she did reach out to him. Davido also praised Tiwa Savage for her role in transforming the Nigerian music scene for women. “Tiwa is an amazing person; she changed the game for females in the industry, and she will always have that respect,” he said.
In closing, Davido reaffirmed their bond, stating, “That’s my sister. I will never let anything happen to her.”
