Mohamed Salah Says Liverpool’s Latest Title Win Is “100% Better”

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah believes their latest Premier League title win feels far more special than their 2020 triumph.

On Sunday, Liverpool secured their 20th English league title with a dominant 5-1 victory over Tottenham. Their impressive campaign underlined their brilliance throughout the season, allowing them to finish as clear winners in the title race. The victory moves Liverpool level with Manchester United for the most English league titles in history.

This is Liverpool's second Premier League crown in five years, but unlike the 2020 win — which was achieved during a Covid-disrupted season with no fans in the stadium — Sunday’s triumph was celebrated in front of a full crowd at Anfield. The atmosphere made the moment even more memorable for players and supporters.

After scoring a goal that moved him past Sergio Aguero as the highest-scoring overseas player in Premier League history, Salah was asked to compare the two title wins. Speaking to Sky Sports, Salah made it clear he values the 2025 title far more.

“Incredible, incredible," Salah said. "To win the Premier League here with Liverpool, with the fans, is incredible. This is way better, 100%. Without Sadio [Mane], without Jurgen, without Bobby [Firmino], without everybody…it feels more special with the fans. I don’t want to take credit from anyone, but we have a different group now, a different manager, so to show we can do it again is something special.”

Salah praised new manager Arne Slot for his impact, describing him as honest and straightforward. Salah explained how Slot’s clear instructions helped him improve and simplify his game, allowing him to focus more on attacking.

Salah has had an incredible season, scoring 33 goals and providing 28 assists across 48 appearances. His goal involvement rate stands at an impressive one every 75 minutes. Liverpool recently secured Salah’s future with a new two-year contract, much to the delight of fans.

On how Slot improved his game, Salah said: “You can see the numbers, it seems so! I know I don’t have to defend much, so... I told him, ‘as long as you rest me defensively, I will show you numbers’, and I’m glad I did.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s title celebrations continued into the night. It also emerged that Slot had turned down the chance to sign a £120,000-a-week Manchester United star last summer, a decision seen as crucial to Liverpool’s success this season.
