Amorim Rules Out Quitting Man Utd Despite Poor Premier League Form

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has dismissed any suggestions that he is considering quitting his role, despite a poor run of results this season. He warned, however, that everyone at the club must reflect deeply and that changes will be necessary if the situation does not improve.

Speaking ahead of Manchester United’s Europa League final against Tottenham next Wednesday, Amorim made it clear that he has no intention of resigning. “I am far from quitting,” he said, responding to questions about his future.

United’s struggles in the Premier League have been well-documented. A recent defeat to West Ham at Old Trafford was especially disappointing, marking the Hammers’ first win there in nine matches. The loss pushed West Ham above United in the league standings, leaving United in a concerning 16th place after suffering 17 defeats this season.

Amorim admitted he was “embarrassed” by the West Ham result and stressed that both players and management must take responsibility. “Since I arrived here, I’ve always talked about the standards. I cannot see the team having these results, especially in the Premier League, and not say something and take responsibility,” he explained.

Despite the challenges, Amorim remains focused on the future and believes he has a clear plan to address the team’s problems. However, he warned that the club must improve its performance or face inevitable changes. “We need to perform or else they will change us,” he said.

Beyond the results on the pitch, Amorim also spoke about the difficult financial decisions facing the club. He highlighted the impact of budget cuts, which have led to staff layoffs and made it challenging to support remaining employees.

“In our club at the moment, it is sometimes hard to understand when to take and when to give, and to respect the people when we have taken their jobs to survive and rebuild,” Amorim explained.

He shared that both he and the players have tried to support staff members who remain, acknowledging that while helping others may not change his life personally, it is important to do so. “Everybody wants the staff and the families there,” he added.

Amorim’s comments reflect a manager who is determined to fight for his position while acknowledging the serious issues Manchester United must address both on and off the pitch.
