Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has vowed to end the club’s trophy drought, telling fans that the team remains determined to deliver major honours despite recent setbacks.
Speaking to supporters at the Emirates Stadium after Arsenal's final home game of the season against Newcastle, Arteta acknowledged the disappointment of falling short this year. The Gunners had hoped to secure silverware but came up empty-handed.
“We had a dream,” Arteta said to the crowd. “And it was to be here now, or in a week's time, and bringing the big trophies to you guys. But we couldn't do it for many circumstances.”
Although he didn’t go into detail about those “circumstances,” Arteta’s comments hinted at the challenges his side faced throughout the season, including tough competition and key injuries. Arsenal had been in contention in both the Premier League and Europe, but their title hopes slipped away late in the campaign.
Despite the disappointment, Arteta’s message to fans was one of hope and determination. He assured them that the team remains focused on improving and bringing success back to the club.
Under Arteta’s leadership, Arsenal have made clear progress. The squad has shown attacking flair, defensive improvement, and a strong sense of unity. However, that progress has yet to translate into major trophies—a gap the manager is eager to close.
Arteta has previously led Arsenal to an FA Cup victory in 2020, shortly after taking over as manager. Since then, expectations have risen, and both fans and the club are eager for more consistent success at the top level.
As the season draws to a close, attention will now turn to the summer transfer window. Strengthening the squad will be crucial if Arsenal hopes to compete more seriously for trophies next season.
Arteta’s public vow to bring home “the big trophies” signals that the team’s ambition remains high. And with strong support from the fans and board, the manager now faces the challenge of turning that promise into reality.
