Afrobeats sensation Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, made a remarkable donation of ₦105 million to a Christ Embassy church in Benin, Edo State, on Sunday. The generous contribution was announced during a Sunday service, where Rema expressed his gratitude to the church for its unwavering support and spiritual guidance throughout his journey.

In a viral video from the service, Rema stated, "I'm not here to give myself any accolades or glory. I'm here to give God the glory." He went on to explain that he felt it was essential to give back, as the church had embraced him, prayed for him, and kept him "very consistent with [his] spirit."

Rema's donation included ₦40 million pledged towards the church's infrastructure, ₦20 million for the Rhapsody of Realities, and ₦25 million dedicated to the infrastructure of the church's teen ministry. Additionally, he committed ₦20 million to support widows within the church community.

The artist also shared a poignant personal story, recalling how the church had supported his family following the death of his father when he was just 8 years old. "We felt very lost and abandoned. All that we had was taken from us and we felt very alone," Rema recalled. "I remember at the time Pastor Joy and Pastor Thomas, the pastors of this church, they opened a shop for my mum and that was what she managed to take care of us."
