Nigerian singer and songwriter Kizz Daniel has announced the passing of his mother-in-law, who succumbed to breast cancer. The musician shared the heartbreaking news on Friday via his official X (formerly Twitter) page, expressing deep sorrow and support for his wife, Mjay Anidugbe.
“My wife lost her mom to breast cancer, and I’m here mourning with her. Say a prayer for her mom, Vaddicts,” Kizz Daniel wrote, asking fans and well-wishers for prayers for the deceased.
Since the announcement, the singer's social media has been flooded with messages of sympathy and support from fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry. Many have praised the couple for their strength during this difficult time.
Kizz Daniel, known for keeping his personal life private, publicly revealed his wife’s identity earlier this year. The couple’s journey together has been marked by both happiness and tragedy. In March 2021, they welcomed triplets but lost one of the babies shortly after birth.
Rising to fame in 2015 with the chart-topping hit “Woju,” Kizz Daniel has become a household name in the Nigerian music scene. His career began with a record deal with G-Worldwide Entertainment in 2013. However, a contract dispute led to his departure and the establishment of his own record label, Flyboy Inc., in November 2017.
Despite stepping down as the CEO of Flyboy Inc., Kizz Daniel appointed his former label boss, Emperor Geezy, to lead the company. His contributions to the music industry continue to be celebrated, with fans applauding his resilience and dedication both personally and professionally.
As the family grieves this loss, supporters continue to rally around Kizz Daniel and his wife, offering prayers and kind words. The music star’s openness about this tragedy has resonated with many, highlighting the challenges faced even by public figures.
Kizz Daniel’s tribute to his late mother-in-law is a reminder of the universal nature of loss and the importance of supporting loved ones during tough times.
